LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A pink Himalayan salt cave opened in April on North Ashland Avenue for halotherapy and other services. The salt cave is a 300-square-foot space made with nearly 7 tons of anti-bacterial and anti-fungal pink Himalayan salt covering the walls, floor and most of the ceiling. Owner Lara Levine says recent studies have shown halotherapy is effective at slowing the spread of viruses as well as reducing anxiety, stress and fatigue.
“It was so totally restorative and relaxing and then with the benefit of the halotherapy, breathing in that salt air, it was kind of like going to the beach for a long weekend in 45 minutes,” says Levine.
Levine says visitors to the salt cave have described feeling peaceful and “clear” in their lungs afterwards. To book an appointment or find out more, visit www.lexsaltcave.com or check them out on Facebook and Instagram @LexSaltCave.
