MOUNT STERLING, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two people in Mount Sterling are charged with providing
marijuana and alcohol to minors.
According to the Mount Sterling Police Department, officers began receiving complaints about McFadden’s Antiques, located at 107 S. Queen St. The complaints involve a “youth support group” being run in the business. The organizers of this supposed support group were giving teenagers marijuana and alcohol, according to police.
Through the investigation, police determined illegal drugs and alcohol were being provided to youth, according to the department. Investigators also received reports juveniles were being touched inappropriately, the department said in its statement.
Richard J. McFadden, 55, and Phyliss A. Mastin have been arrested for their involvement. McFadden is being charged with second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, third-degree sexual abuse and trafficking in marijuana. Mastin is being charged with second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor.
The investigation is ongoing and the Mount Sterling Police Department asks that victims or anyone with information come forward.
