LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ/FAYETTE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS) – The district’s Child Nutrition Office reminds families that, under a federal waiver during the COVID-19 pandemic, all meals are free for all students for the rest of the 2020-21 school year – whether in the cafeterias or via pickup while still in remote learning.
The Fayette County Public Schools is adjusting the meal distribution process again as more grades return to the classroom during March.
Students remaining in remote instruction, NTI/2DL, or the FCPS Virtual Learning Academy (VLA) will continue to receive free breakfasts and lunches. For questions, please call (859) 381-3846.
Week of March 1-5:
Food pickup runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday at any of these locations, regardless of student enrollment:
- Eight of 12 middle schools — Beaumont, Bryan Station, Crawford, Edythe J. Hayes, Jessie Clark, Leestown, LTMS, and Winburn;
- All six high schools — Bryan Station, Frederick Douglass, Henry Clay, Lafayette, Paul Laurence Dunbar, and Tates Creek.
There are no pre-ordered meals for elementary distribution since grades 3-5 return to campus on Wednesday, March 3.
Week of March 8-12:
Food distribution is only on Wednesday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the locations listed above. This is the last opportunity to pick up bagged meals for students who return next week for in-person instruction.
