LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Citizen Foster Care Review Board is asking for volunteers in 53 Kentucky counties.
The board says it desperately needs volunteers to help make a difference in kids’ lives.
Volunteers would be responsible for writing up reviews for kids in foster care with the goal of getting them in homes as quickly and as permanently as possible.
The board says it doesn’t require much of a commitment, volunteers get together once a month, if that, and review cases to prepare for a judge.
The board is looking for diverse volunteers with different viewpoints.
Requirements to become a volunteer include filling out an application, going through two background checks, six hours of training, and finally, being appointed by a judge in a specific county.
To apply, visit kycourts.gov, head to the Family and Juvenile Services page, and click Citizen Foster Care Review Board.
