PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – A 21-year-old Pikeville man, Daniel Brock, is jailed on numerous charges after leading state and local officers on a chase through two counties and crashing into three state trooper cars.
Troopers at the Kentucky State Police Pikeville Post say they were notified by Pikeville City Police Department of a pursuit on February 7, 2021 around 1:56 p.m.
A Pikeville City Police Department patrol officer was pursuing a black Chrysler 300 entering Coal Run city limits. The vehicle had been reported stolen from Ohio.
Troopers joined the pursuit near the intersection of US 23 and Main Street in Coal Run.
The pursuit continued North on US 23 into Floyd County, and ended near Ivy Creek.
During the pursuit three marked Kentucky State Police cruisers were struck by the fleeing vehicle causing minor damage to all three cruisers. The operator of the Chrysler, 21-year- old Daniel Brock, of Pikeville, was arrested without further incident.
Brock also had one adult female passenger as well as one minor child approximately 18 months of age in the vehicle.
Daniel Brock was arrested and lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center on charges of Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle), three counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree (Police Officer), three counts of Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, Operating Motor Vehicle under the influence of Controlled Substance 1st Offense (Aggravated Circumstance), Operating on a Suspended or Revoked Operator License, Possessions of Controlled Substance 2nd degree (Hallucinogen), and Buy or Possess Drug Paraphernalia.
Brock was additionally charged by the Pikeville City Police Department.
