Governor Beshear reports a positivity rate below eight percent


FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Only a day after Kentucky hit a grim milestone of more than 4,000 lives lost to the virus, some news of hope.

The state’s positivity rate is below eight percent for the first time in weeks.

Sunday’s positivity rate is reported at 7.97 percent.

The Governor’s office say there was also the fourth straight week of declining cases with 1,532 new COVID-19 cases reported Sunday.

New deaths related to the virus is at 31 lives, bringing the death toll to 4,051.
