LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The community response has been so great the Lexington Rescue Mission now needs more community response.
The center has increased demand this year for warm, traditional Christmas meal. And the community has responded, making it possible for the Mission to meet the demand.
But to make sure it happens, it needs more volunteers to help deliver those meals between 2:30 and 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23.
To make the process safe for everyone, drivers will pull up to Broadway Christian Church where the meals are being prepared and packaged, the meals and an address will be placed in the car and the driver is off. When drivers arrive at the home to deliver, they will knock on the door and leave the meal on the porch.
Individuals, families, church groups or businesses are asked to help.
