UPDATE: Man hospitalized after truck flip that shut down part of I-64 in Fayette County

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- A man was taken to the hospital Monday evening after flipping his truck, shutting down part of I-64 in Fayette County.

Lexington Police say the driver flipped his Ford truck around 5:20 p.m. on I-64 Westbound near mile marker 71.

The truck driver had to be cut out of his truck, which briefly required the road be shut down.

He was taken to UK Hospital, but officers expect he’ll survive.

Police say they suspect he wasn’t sober.

No one else was hurt.

According to the state, the interstate opened again at 7:11 p.m. Monday night.

FAYETTE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Traffic on I-64 westbound has been slowed Monday evening while first responders and law enforcement work a serious traffic accident.

It was reported at 5:20 p.m. at mile marker 71 in Fayette County.

A truck had overturned and was on its side with at least one person partially trapped inside, firefighters said.

As of 6:10 p.m., some lanes continued to be blocked or slowed, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
