UPDATE: 3-month bridge closure on Hume Road in Fayette delayed a week


LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists of a scheduled bridge replacement project that was scheduled to start Monday, Nov. 9 has been delayed a week and now is scheduled to start Monday, Nov. 16.

The bridge located on Hume Road over David Fork of North Elkhorn will be temporarily closed.

The project is part of the Bridging Kentucky Program. The program is designed to improve the safety and soundness of the Commonwealth’s bridges by rehabilitating, repairing, or replacing critical bridges throughout the state.

Monday, Nov. 16 at 7:30 a.m. through 8 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2021

Hume Road

  • the bridge located directly after Adena Lane will be closed
  • this is a this is a county route — there are no assigned milepoints

Motorists will need to use the signed detour in place:

  • Hume Road to Winchester Road/US 60 to New Circle Road/KY 4 to Bryan Station Road/KY 57 to Hume Road
