MONTGOMERY/MENIFEE COUNTIES, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two men face a variety of charges after a chase from Montgomery into Menifee County.
Sunday, Montgomery County deputies were notified of a burglary in Menifee County and the possible location on Bedford Road where the suspects might be. When Montgomery County deputies went to the site, the suspects fled, almost crashing into a sheriff’s patrol car.
Deputies gave pursuit but ended the chase when it became dangerous to other drivers on the road.
Monday, Montgomery County deputies spotted them again and again the suspects fled, almost hitting a petrol car.
According to Montgomery County deputies, the chase led into Menifee County where the fleeing suspects were met by Menifee County deputies. The suspects wrecked their car trying to make a turn. They fled on foot but one was caught by a Menifee deputy and the other was arrested after being shot with a Taser.
Two handguns and ammunition were recovered along with stolen property, Montgomery County deputies said.
Deputies arrested 29-year-old Allen Meeks, of Frenchburg, and 33-year-old Cory Centers, of Owingsville. Both face a variety of charges stemming from the burglary investigations and the chases.
Agencies involved included The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Menifee County Sheriff’s Office, Mt. Sterling Police, Kentucky State Police and Kentucky Fish and Wildlife.
