LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A 36-year-old convicted felon is charged in connection with a parking lot shooting earlier this month that injured a teenager and threatened several others.
According to Lexington Police and Fayette County Detention Center records, Carleton Eugene Taite is charged with second-degree assault, nine counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, trafficking in meth and Oxycodone, and possession of heroin.
At about 10:50 p.m. on Sept. 30, police responded to the 400 block of Redding Road to a shots-fired call. Officers found a 16-year-old who suffered a minor gunshot wound and the Thornton’s gas station also had been struck by several shots, according to Sgt. Donnell Gordon.
The investigation led to Taite’s arrest.
