Deaths likely murder-suicide: Coroner


FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two people found dead Monday evening likely were the victims of a murder-suicide, according to the Franklin County Coroner’s Office.

In a statement, Coroner William Harrod identified the victims as 39-year-old Carmelita Lashaun Wright, of Frankfort, and 43-year-old Lorenzo Andrew Simpson, of Frankfort.

They were discovered at about 10:10 p.m. ad pronounced dead just after 11 p.m., Harrod said.

“From a preliminary investigation, The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and The Franklin County Coroner’s Office are investigating this incident as a homicide-suicide,” Harrod said in the statement.

Autopsies and toxicologies are scheduled for Tuesday, with results being available in 12-14 weeks, according to the coroner.

“We believe this is an isolated incident, and we cannot discuss any further details of the investigation at this time,” he concluded.

This is an ongoing investigation by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and the Franklin County Coroner’s Office.
