UPDATE: Man dies from injuries suffered during fire

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A 42-year-old man dies from injuries suffered in a Sunday morning apartment fire.

Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn identified the victim as Robert Woodard. He was pronounced dead at 8:13 a.m. Sunday at UK Medical Center where he’d been taken following the fire at his apartment at 3482 Lansdowne, Unit 119.

The cause and manner of death is listed as undetermined, Ginn said.

The fire remains under investigation by the Lexington Fire Department.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Fire Department says a man was seriously injured in a fire.

It happened on Lansdowne Drive around 7:30 Sunday morning.

Firefighters say the fire was relatively small at the home, but yet, small fires can be dangerous for anyone inside.

The man who was home at the time was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to firefighters.

A fire investigator is looking into where and how the fire started.
