Georgetown Police ask for help in another shooting


GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – The outbreak of gun play continues to disrupt Georgetown neighborhoods and keep the short-staffed Police Department busy.

After having a case of apparent drive-by shooting Friday afternoon, police responded to another one Saturday night.

At about 8 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to the Lake Forrest Drive area on a report of a fight with shots fired. Upon arrival, officers learned a shot had been fired from a car at an person in the 100 block of Lake Forrest Drive, police said.

Officers continue to ask any neighbors in that area to check for video footage they may have from Saturday evening. The vehicle was described by multiple witnesses as a dark- colored Ford passenger car, police said.

Prior to the officers’ arrival, the suspects apparently made multiple passes through the area and were reported to have been driving at a high rate of speed, according to the department.
