Man killed, woman seriously injured when motorcycle crashes into car


PARIS, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man was killed and a woman seriously injured when the motorcycle they were riding swerved into another lane, crashing head o into a car Thursday night in Bourbon County.

According to Kentucky State Police, 31-year-old Jonathan Mattox, of Carlisle, was killed, and his passenger, 23-year-old Elizabeth Boggs, of Lexington, was critically injured in the accident, which happened at about 9:50 p.m. on Hooktown Road near the Bourbon-Nicholas County line.

Troopers said 47-year-old Mable Leonard,of Cynthiana, was westbound on Hooktown Road in a 2013 Chevrolet Cruise when Mattox, who was eastbound on a 2009 Kawasaki crossed the center line as the two approached a curve. The cycle and car hit head on, troopers said.

Boggs was flown to UK Hospital with severe injuries. Leonard sustained minor injuries, troopers said.

The investigation is being conducted by Reconstructionist Trooper Joseph Kenny. He was assisted on scene by additional KSP personnel, the Bourbon County Sheriff’s Office, Bourbon County EMS, Bourbon County Fire Department, and the Bourbon County Coroner.
