MONTICELLO, Ky. (WTVQ) — A man is charged with DUI after crashing his car into a building in downtown Monticello in Wayne County, injuring four children.
According to the Monticello Police Department’s Facebook post, at about 8:50 a.m. March 5, a 2010 Toyota struck an abandoned building on South Main Street. Three of the children were airlifted to the U.K. Medical Center for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries. The fourth was treated and released from the Wayne County Hospital.
The driver, David Wayne Rigney, 28, of Monticello, was taken into custody by KSP Trooper Matt Parmley and charged with DUI, multiple counts of assault, and seat belt and child restraint violations.Rigney was processed and lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
