LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Michigan man is in custody after troopers say he led them on a high-speed chase through two Kentucky counties on I-75.
Kentucky State Police say troopers tried to stop 21-year-old Kenaree Estes near the 34-mile marker in Laurel County. They say when they walked up to the vehicle, they smelled marijuana.
Troopers say Estes removed a small amount of marijuana from the console and then took off, reaching speeds of more than 100 miles per hour.
According to troopers, Estes continued into Whitley County and got off Exit 25 to Corbin and continued down the Cumberland Falls Highway, turning onto Scuffletown Road. They say as Estes reached Fifth Street and Scuffletown in Whitley County, he stopped the vehicle and was arrested.
Estes is charged with speeding, possession of marijuana and several other offenses.
