Man accused of eating stolen food in a Laurel County Walmart

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a man who is accused of stealing more than $100 worth of food.

Investigators say 36-year-old Joseph Lee Jones, of Rockholds, was caught Sunday at a Walmart near Corbin opening food items with a razor blade and then hiding them.

Deputies say Jones was eating the food and leaving the packages in other areas of the store. They say the total value of the items was $177.32.

According to deputies, Jones was found with a glass pipe used to smoke methamphetamine.

Jones is charged with unlawful taking, public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to deputies.
