LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Another county in Kentucky has become a Second Amendment sanctuary.
Laurel County unanimously passed the resolution in fiscal court on Thursday.
Second Amendment sanctuary counties say the goal is protecting the rights of gun owners by not abiding by gun control laws seen as a violation of the Second Amendment.
Opponents say the resolutions are mainly symbolic and can’t be enforced.
Laurel County follows the lead of several other counties in the state, including Clark County, which passed the resolution to become a Second Amendment sanctuary later the same evening.
