LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Chevy Chase Inn in Lexington has banned political talk among its patrons.
The policy was put in place during the 2016 presidential election.
Co-owner Kevin Heathcoat says he continues to stand by the decision because it helps create a welcoming atmosphere for customers.
“Nobody want’s to hear arguments when you walk into a bar,” Heathcoat says.
He believes alcohol and political conversation do not mix well.
“There’s plenty of places to discuss your politics but over a beer or bourbon is not the time,” he said.
