Transylvania University hires new president


LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Transylvania University has a new president.

The university announced Tuesday Brien Lewis has been selected to serve as its 27th president.

“Transylvania’s rich history and the vitality of the opportunities it offers to students today are both impressive and inspiring,” Lewis says. “We look forward to engaging with the campus and the greater Lexington community to build on the university’s commitments to excellence and innovation.”

Lewis is the current president of Catawba College in Salisbury, North Carolina.

He will start his new position on July 1.
