ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Authorities are investigating after they say three trailers in the same trailer park suspiciously caught fire within two weeks of each other in Rockcastle County.
The Mount Vernon Fire Department has been called to the trailer park on Davis Street three times for reported fires since January 2. The latest occurred on Wednesday night.
In a statement to WTVQ, firefighters say the fires shouldn’t be referred to as a serial arson case because they haven’t determined if they are related.
“As of now, all that can be said is that all three were within two weeks of each other and in the same location. All occurred under suspicious circumstances and all are being investigated by KSP and MVPD.”
Firefighters say two of the previously burned trailers were unoccupied, but a woman was living in the trailer burned in last night’s fire. She was not home at the time of the fire.
They say there were no injuries in all three fires.
