WOLFE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Rescuers say an 11-year-old boy is in good spirits after being saved from what could have led to a 100-foot fall in Wolfe County.
In a Facebook post, Wolfe County Search & Rescue said a call came in around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday about a boy stranded on a cliff ledge.
They say the boy and his family were on a trail when the boy wandered ahead and climbed under the railing just before reaching the Sky Bridge Arch.
Authorities say he slipped and landed on a cliff ledge, preventing him from falling more than 100 feet. They say a bystander had a tow strap in his vehicle and lowered it for the boy to tie around his waist.
Rescuers then used a ladder to get the boy to safety.
