Miners in Pike County block coal train over missed paychecks

PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Miners in Eastern Kentucky are blocking a train loaded with coal because they say they haven’t been paid for their work.

The Lexington Herald Leader reports the men work for Quest Energy and the blockade started Monday afternoon.

The miners told the paper there are about 50 miners who are waiting to be paid their wages from the last three weeks, ranging between $2,000 to $3,000 each.
