Filing deadline for 2020 state elections one week away

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – The filing deadline for Kentuckians who want to run for office in 2020 is quickly approaching.

The Office of the Kentucky Secretary of State is reminding people that the filing window officially closes on January 10 at 4:00 p.m.

Offices on the Kentucky ballot in 2020 include:

– Presidential Preference Primary
– United States Senator
– United States Representative in Congress
– State Senator (Odd Districts)
– State Representative
– Justice of the Supreme Court, District 7
– Unexpired Terms

Candidates interested in filing can come to the Secretary of State’s office in Frankfort from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday.
