JAMESTOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – Travelers planning to visit Lake Cumberland State Resort Park are encouraged to check the status of their room because of a recent fire that damaged one of the resort’s buildings.
Firefighters say a section of Lake Cumberland State Resort park was damaged from fire, smoke and water December 19, 2019.
According to firefighters, no one was hurt, but guests in three rooms had to move to cottages.
The building that burned included an indoor pool and 15 rooms.
Park officials say the restaurant and other lodge rooms remained open. They say the park’s New Year’s Eve event will be held as planned.
