FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Voluntary Travel ID’s are now available for people who live in Shelby County.
People who have an existing driver’s license, permit or personal ID can go to the Transportation Cabinet’s headquarters in Frankfort to apply for a REAL ID.
Beginning October 1, 2020, the ID will be required to board a domestic flight and to visit military bases and federal buildings.
The drivers license office is located at 200 Mero Street in Frankfort. It is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Only debit and credit cards are accepted (no cash or check).
