LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Friday is the final day of the 32nd Big Blue Crush Blood Drive, the University of Kentucky’s blood battle against the University of Tennessee for the most donors.

Solid Blue fans can donate until 6 pm. Friday night at the UK Student Center Ballroom A at 160 Avenue of Champions.

Kentucky has been leading Tennessee all week long. The Kentucky Blood Center says numbers from Thursday show UK ahead by almost 1,000 donors.

The organization had over 500 fans donate just Thursday.

“We’re having a great turnout though we are here until 6 o’clock so we still need people to come out and help us beat Tennessee this year. We lost last year so we don’t want to lose again,” says Shera Molton, donor recruit specialist for the Kentucky Blood Center.

The blood center says every donation can save three lives and the blood supply from this drive will help keep the supply full, to last through the holidays.
