Car crash in Estill County kills one person

UPDATE: (11/20/19, 3:08 p.m.) – Kentucky State Police released the name of the victim in a fatal crash in Estill County.

State Police say the victim was 34-year-old Justin Carson, of Irvine. They say he was hit by by 20-year-old Kelsey Wheeler, of Beattyville.

Troopers say Wheeler is in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

IRVINE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say a car crash in Estill County killed one person.

State Police say the crash happened around 7 a.m. Wednesday morning in the 3000 block of Spout Springs Road.

Troopers say one driver crossed the center line into the other lane and hit another car head-on. The driver of the car that was hit was pronounced dead at the scene, according to troopers.

State Police say the driver that crossed the center line was taken to the University of Kentucky Hospital in serious condition.
