LeMonds says staff members started helping her right away with Corizon Medical Staff members, who do medical work at the jail, deciding she needed to go to the hospital.

The Lexington Fire Department took the inmate to the hospital where she was pronounced dead around 11:30 p.m. Friday.

According to the jail, she died of natural causes, but both the coroner and jail are investigating as is normal procedure when an inmate dies.

The inmate has not been identified yet.
