FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said it has completed its 100th bridge restoration project through the Bridging Kentucky Program.
The KTC said the 100th bridge is located in southern McCracken County. The three-span bridge on KY 339 goes over Massac Creek.
The state is working to re-open closed bridges, eliminate weight restrictions that limit travel and restore critical crossings, according to the KTC.
A $93.3 million dollar contract has been awarded to a Kentucky-based contracting team to repair 106 bridges in 21 counties across Eastern Kentucky, according to the KTC.
The KTC said construction on these bridges is expected to begin in early 2020 and expected to be finished by late 2023.
