Deadly Franklin County crash victim, suspect identified

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- The driver killed in a Franklin County crash and the suspect arrested for that crash have been identified.

State police say before 8:15 p-m 45-year-old Mark Beckelheimer from Ohio was driving a semi out of a gas station, trying to head South on US 127 near Evergreen Road when the semi partially blocked southbound lanes, causing a crash with the car 57-year-old Patrick Scott from Indianapolis was driving.

Scott died in that crash.

Beckelheimer was arrested and now faces several charges, including driving a commercial motor vehicle while out of service.

Troopers say Scott Beckelheimer could face more charges.

They’re hoping people who witnessed the crash might have more information that could help their investigation.
