One arrested after copper wire is stolen from Wayne County school


WAYNE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office says a business helped investigators track down a suspect in a copper wire theft.

The sheriff says someone stole several rolls of copper wire from the Wayne County Technology Center.

Investigators received a call that led them to Iron Man Recycling, where several rolls of the stolen copper were recovered. Deputies say Iron Man Recycling provided them with the name and address of the suspect who sold the copper wire.

When detectives went to the home of William Paige, they say they discovered 12 more rolls of copper wire.

Paige is charged with burglary and theft by unlawful taking.
