Two of those incident were fatal. We learned the name of one of those victims Monday.

Police say 51-year-old Carroll Martin was shot on Florence Avenue and died.

The shooting happened Sunday. Police say Martin was found shot in the road. He was taken to UK hospital where the coroner says he later died.

Police believe Martin and the suspect knew each other.

No one is in custody at this time.

We spoke with a woman off camera who lives right near where the shooting happened. She told us she wants to know why there is so much violence in the city.

Another violent incident in Lexington, happened on Elm Tree Lane Saturday night.

Police say a man was found in an apartment stabbed to death.

They say David Godbold was found unresponsive and the coroner pronounced him dead on scene.

No one’s been arrested for the stabbing.

“To know that’s happening around where I live is a little scary,” says Catherine Callahan who lives near Elm Tree.

She says the incident has her on edge and she doesn’t want to walk her dog on that street anymore.

“Definitely not at night. I’ll have to figure something else out or be more careful,” says Callahan.

She says she’s noticed an increase in violence in the city.

“I mean this could’ve happened anywhere but it does hit a little closer to home when it happens right across the street,” Callahan says.

Police are interviewing neighbors to try and learn more about what happened.

Anymore with information on both these homicides are asked to contact police.
