Two Kentuckians to receive Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Awards

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ)- Two Kentuckians will receive Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Awards September 12th.

They are Dr. Mark Lynn and Amy Hehre.

Lynn, born in Louisville and raised in Owensboro, is a philanthropist who owns and operates 90 Visionworks locations. He will receive the Muhammad Ali Kentucky Humanitarian Award.

Hehre is the CEO & Founder of OVI Children’s Hospital in Kenya. She was born and raised in Somerset, Kentucky. She will receive the Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Award for Global Citizenship.

Michael J. Fox and Mark Tewksbury are among the other honorees.



The seventh annual Humanitarian Awards will honor “seasoned” humanitarians and those 30 years old and under.

The annual ceremony benefits the Ali Center. The theme this year is courage.

The awards will take place Thursday, September 12th at the Louisville Marriott Downtown.
