LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – VisitLex is making national headlines after one of its marketing videos went viral.
The ‘Neigh SMR’ video took first place Tuesday night at the Destinations Council’s Destiny Awards Program which is held each year in conjunction with the Esto Travel Conference.
It shows a horse name Hank at the Kentucky Horse Park crunching on food items like carrots, apples and peppermints.
The video was posted on the VisitLex Facebook, Instagram and YouTube channel in April. It now has more than 425,000 views on YouTube alone.
According to VisitLex, it’s the first tourism brand to introduce ASMR as part of a destination marketing strategy and is also the first brand to use a horse.
The Destiny Awards recognize U.S. Travel destination members for excellence and creative accomplishment in destination marketing and promotion at the local and regional level; and foster the development of imaginative and innovative destination marketing promotion programs and activities.
