FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – A hearing has been scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday in Lt. Gov Jenean Hampton’s lawsuit against Gov. Matt Bevin.
Lt. Gov Jenean Hampton sued Gov. Bevin after his administration dismissed two of her staff members.
Hampton filed the lawsuit in state court last Thursday.
The suit claims that Hampton has the authority to fire and hire her own staff members.
Both Gov. Bevin and the State Personnel Cabinet are the defendants in this case.
Hampton was dropped from Bevin’s reelection ticket earlier this Spring.
As the case continues to move forward, Gov. Bevin faces a tough reelection bid against Democratic opponent Andy Beshear later this year in November’s general election.
