Three arrested in Lexington after robbery of an elderly couple

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police says three people were arrested for robbing an elderly couple at the end of July.

According to Lexington Police, the couple was in the Walmart parking lot when one of the men and the woman demanded money pointing guns at them.

The elderly couple was able to honk the car horn to draw attention to the incident, causing the suspects to flee the scene.

The three people arrested were 20-year-old Brandon Ross, 19-year-old Austin Morrison, and 21-year-old Mercedes Childress, charging each with Robbery 1st for an incident that occurred late last month. Ross was also charged with Burglary 3rd and Fleeing/Evading 2nd, and Morrison was served an unrelated warrant out of Jessamine County.

They are all currently in the Fayette County Detention Center.
