LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Lexington bridge that’s been closed for nearly three months is now back open.
The Malabu Drive Bridge was closed to traffic back in May, as crews worked to replace the bridge.
The project is part of the state’s “Bridging Kentucky” program, which will rehabilitate, repair, or replace more than 1,000 critical bridges across the state over the next six years.
There are five bridges in Fayette County that are being replaced and one that is marked for rehabilitation, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, which is overseeing the program.
