LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A nearly day-long barricade situation ended peacefully with a convicted felon’s arrest around 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, according to Lexington Police.
The man’s name was not immediately released nor were details of his felony conviction.
Police say it all began Wednesday morning with a possible medical emergency call at a home on Rye Lane, off of Russell Cave Road.
When officers arrived they say they saw guns inside the home.
That’s when police say they left the scene and got a warrant to search the home.
Officers say when they came back with the warrant, the man barricaded himself inside the home and refused to come out.
Some homes in the area were evacuated as a precaution and streets were closed in the immediate area, keeping some people from their homes for hours.
