LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man faces multiple charges after police say he assaulted his girlfriend with a metal baseball bat.
It happened Tuesday morning on North Broadway.
According to the man’s arrest report, 62-year-old Larry Gatling and his girlfriend have been dating for 14 years.
The report says Gatling hit her with a metal baseball bat causing minor swelling to the woman’s left eye.
They say the woman was later transported to the hospital.
The report also says police searched Gatling’s apartment and found a large mason jar with approximately 26 grams of marijuana, a digital scale, and a box of sandwich baggies that were located in plain sight.
Gatling is charged with assault, trafficking in marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He is scheduled to appear in court on those charges today.
