RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – First responders are getting together to build a home this weekend in Richmond.
The Habitat for Humanity Madison and Clark Counties is hosting ‘Raising the Walls’ on Saturday, July 13. They’ve partnered with over 14 different Madison County First Responders to build the home.
“The idea behind partnering with the first responders was to highlight them doing good in our community, ” said Jessica Pannell Ball, the fund development coordinator for Habitat for Humanity of Madison and Clark Counties. “These guys and gals are our local heroes for keeping our community safe.”
Ball said between department fundraisers and the local community, they’ve raised more than $30,000.
Anyone interested in helping with the build should arrive at 8:30 a.m. to get checked in. Building begins at 9 a.m. and you do not need to be a first responder to take part. Volunteers can sign up online, HERE.
The location of the site is 311 Edwards Avenue in Richmond.
