Richmond Transit Service announces route changes

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – If you use the Richmond Transit Services new changes may affect you.

The Kentucky River Foothills will be making several adjustments to its routes in Richmond. The changes are intended to provide enhanced access to necessary locations in the City of Richmond and meet the rapidly changing mobility demands of current and future riders.

On Monday, August 12, 2019, the Richmond Transit Service schedule will begin a modified version of its long-standing route.

The Kentucky River Foothills adjusted the Richmond Transit Service schedule previously in August of 2017.

Bus A will remain on a 90-minute loop and Bus B will remain on a 60-minute loop.



Riders will notice that a few stops on the schedule have been removed and replaced with new locations.

Bus A

  • Additional Stop
    • Baptist Physicians (across from Meijer)
  • Eliminated Stops
    • Health Department (will remain on Bus B schedule)
    • Save-A-Lot (will remain on Bus B schedule)
    • EKU Business & Technology Building (students may transfer from Big E to Richmond Transit or vice-versa via the Baptist Health/Vickers Lot Stop)
  • Name Changes
    • Baptist Health will be referred to on the schedule as Baptist Health/Vickers Lot

Bus B

  • Additional Stop
    • DCBC Office
  • Eliminated Stop
    • Madison Clinic
  • Name Changes
    • Super Save will be referred to as South Keeneland Dr. Shops
    • Baptist Health will be referred to on the schedule as Baptist Health/Vickers Lot

Riders of the Richmond Transit Service are able to board the bus at any of the stops for $1. For $7, riders can purchase a bundle of 10 bus passes – making each ride only 70 cents.  Children age 8 and under ride free (KY state seat belt and booster laws apply to our transit system).
