RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Richmond man is accused of abusing and abandoning a young child.
According to the Richmond Register, an employee at a daycare noticed a handprint on the stomach and a knot on the forehead of a 4-year-old child on Monday.
The newspaper says the child told the employee that 33-year-old Joe Asher caused the injuries.
Police were called and officers contacted Asher, who said he was coming to pick up the child.
According to the newspaper, Asher never came to pick up the child and did not contact the daycare or officers, despite the child needing medical attention.
He was arrested Wednesday and charged with child abuse and abandonment of a minor.
