Year-to-date sales through the end of May 2019 were $1.035 Billion, which is 8.1% ahead of the previous and $13.9 million ahead of budget, according to the lottery.

It says this is the earliest point in a fiscal year for sales to hit the $1 billion dollar threshold.

The lottery credits sales for the Mega Millions game, Scatch-off tickets and Lottery Instant Play for the increase.

The board also approved the Lottery’s budget for next year, setting the sales goal at $1.2 billion.
