Rescheduled closures for New Circle Road in Fayette Co.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists that there is an update for work toward the New Circle Road/KY 4 widening project in Lexington.

New Circle Road/KY 4 at Georgetown Road/US 25 (milepoint 8.731)

The operations described are rescheduled due to the inclement weather forecast for Thursday evening.

The new dates/times are below:

Monday, June 10



7 p.m.  (time is approximate)

o   left/fast lane closures will be in effect for the Inner and Outer Loops

9 p.m.  (time is approximate)

o   the Inner Loop will close

o   traffic will be directed up the ramps for New Circle Road/KY 4

Tuesday, June 11

2 a.m. (time is approximate)

o   the Inner Loop will open and the Outer Loop will close

o   traffic will be directed up the ramps for New Circle Road/KY 4

 

KYTC says the closures are necessary for the first phase of demolition operations on the Georgetown Road Bridge.

LFUCG law enforcement will be onsite assisting with the traffic flow

Motorists should utilize inbound Georgetown Road/US 25 to Citation Boulevard to Newtown Pike/KY 922 to New Circle Road/KY 4 and downtown Lexington.

All work is scheduled on a tentative basis and is subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
