Highway cable barrier project to begin for Interstate 64

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists of a cable barrier project that is scheduled to begin.  The installation of barriers will be in Fayette, Scott and Woodford Counties along Interstate 64.  Cable barriers have been proven to increase safety.

Tuesday, June 4

o   7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. (work could continue past 5 p.m. with an inside/left shoulder closure)

Wednesday, June 5

o   7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. (work could continue past 5 p.m. with an inside/left shoulder closure)



Wednesday, June 5 through Thursday, June 6

o   9 p.m. Wednesday until 6 a.m. Thursday (the left/fast lane in each direction will be closed)

Thursday, June 6

o   7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. (work could continue past 5 p.m. with an inside/left shoulder closure))

Interstate 64 – milepoint 74.65 to milepoint 65.6

o   an inside shoulder closure will be in effect during the daytime for Tuesday (today), Wednesday and Thursday (7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. or later)

o   the left/fast lane will be closed in each direction for Wednesday evening through Thursday morning (9 p.m. Wednesday until 6 a.m. Thursday)
