PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – It’s a sad ending to the search for a kayaker reported missing in Pike County.
According to Kentucky State Police, the body of 47-year-old Paris Smith was recovered from the Big Sandy River on Friday around 11 a.m.
Crews have been searching for Smith since he disappeared Wednesday night while kayaking with a group in the Levisa Fork of the Big Sandy River.
State police say he was found in the Coal Run area.
The investigation remains open, according to police.
