LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The American Saddlebred Museum at the Kentucky Horse Park may look a little different the next time you visit, after extensive renovations on the gallery and gift shop.
For those who haven’t visited, Amy Nelson, with development and marketing says, “We have an amazing collection of artifacts, art, trophies, just everything that has to do with the American Saddlebred.”
And they hope the community will come see the renovations at an upcoming equine themed auction.
“We’re having an art and antique and rare book type of auction. It’s going to be held on Saturday, June 3rd at the museum. It’s a consignment auction, we’re not selling anything out of our collection,” explained curator Kim Skipton.
Skipton says the auction will feature 75 pieces and begin at 11 a.m. at the museum. Their last auction was two years ago and included items ranging in price from $150 to $90,000, according to Skipton.
A preview auction will take place June 3rd-7th from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The American Saddlebred Museum and Gift Shop is located at 4083 Iron Works Parkway in Lexington.
