Police tow car abandoned after shots fired

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Lexington police say around 7:45 p.m. Monday someone called to report shots fired on Alumni Drive near Yellowstone Parkway.

That caller told dispatchers a maroon Cadillac pulled up next to a black Mazda as it drove toward New Circle Road. Then someone in the Cadillac started shooting at the Mazda.

The Cadillac drove off quickly.

Police say another witness told officers two men ran from the Mazda.

When police arrived, only the empty Mazda was there. Officers say it had some damage; it looked as if some bullets had hit it.

The car was towed.

No one has shown up to any area hospital with a gunshot wound, according to police so officers are still looking for suspects and possible victims.
